I can live with a regular "L" - I was babysitting, which means a blizzard of snacks/chicken tenders et al. I don't understand how all parents aren't 900 lbs.

But I'm furious at myself re: on the way home I got two slices of pizza. Knowing the whole time I wasn't hungry, didn't even particularly want/need them. Forced myself to finish the second one. The whole thing was in slow motion.

Hoping actually noting this and being honest about it keeps me from doing it again. It's my first L in a while, I've actually been really good; just don't panic. Have some self-awareness.

Splurge Day

Last year I wrote about a college buddy losing 100lbs HERE. Amazing. One of his rules is that he gives himself a one-day-a-week "splurge day," which means that one day a week, he eats whatever he wants to without worrying about calories.

Also, a few days ago outta the blue Brothatime!! suggested I do the same thing, so I take these two things as a sign that it's a good thing to do. Knowing I have that one day coming up will hopefully stop me from any panicky meltdown calls to Kam Sing or Dominos. That day from here on will be Saturday. And I'm making it a rule that I can't do the ol' "well, I just ate an entire pizza, so I'll make today this week's Splurge Day even though its only Monday." If I do feel the need to change it, like for instance there's some big event on Sunday, or Big Bear's birthday is on a Friday or whatever, then I need to do it in advance.

Now, I am not giving myself license just yet to go crazy just so I can. For instance, today I decreed that I can only eat whatever I've already bought - no restaurants, no delivery. So I ate a bowl of Cheerios. Granted, it was such a big bowl I almost didn't finish it, but still. I haven't felt the need to eat anything else just for eating's sake, so hopefully these past few months really HAVE changed some of my habits.

Splurge Day will not count towards any wins/losses.

Days 50 and 51 2L

After hitting a peak of a .720 winning percentage, I have been hit with the dieter's double whammy: birthday parties. Or, as I mentioned HERE, Lex Luther.

I actually wasn't that bad yesterday - all day I had a handfull of chips, a SMALL meatball sandwich and a piece of cake. Popcorn at night. I'm probably actually a lot closer to a W than I think. But even being in the same room as a birthday cake makes it hard to give yourself a W, so I won't. And today is Opie Birfday Brunch at The Brooklyn Star, and if you think I'm holding back on what's supposed to be the best fried chicken & biscuits, you're off your rocker. So two losses this weekend, then looking forward to a good 5-6 day stretch of wins!  :)
